Bread and Crackers
Place the bait into a fine mesh bag to keep it from floating outside of the trap. The creek chubs can still get the bait in the bag. Most kinds of bread also work, but white bread is preferred because it easily can be rolled into a soft ball.
What do you feed creek chubs?
Feed them three times a day. They will need to eat a varied diet of live food, such as aquatic insects and worms, and regular fish food. They will only breed if fed properly. Remove the adults from the tank once they have spawned.
How do you keep creek chubs alive at home?
You can hang ice bags inside as well, but do not let a big bag float or it will cool them down too fast and shock them. I've kept them for a week with just a cooler and good aeration with some attention to keeping the temp on the cooler side.
