The goal and measure of sanctification is Christlikeness.
God's purpose in our sanctification is to transform us more and more into the likeness of Christ (Rom. 8:29). Refuse to be seduced into defining spiritual maturity in terms of religious activities (sanctification-by-checklist).
What does it mean to be sanctified by God?
1 : to set apart to a sacred purpose or to religious use : consecrate. 2 : to free from sin : purify.
Why is sanctification important?
The purpose of God for our lives is for us to be sanctified—to become more like the image of His perfect Son, Jesus Christ. This is not done through our determination, resolve, will power, or strength, but by the Holy Spirit as we yield our lives to His control and are filled with Him.
