In 1944, Cervecería Tecate® was officially born and named after the town it still calls home today. The birth of the brewery brought a welcomed economic renaissance to the town, thanks to founder Alberto Aldrete's uncanny free spirit and rebellious determination.

According to Tecate's website, the beer has been brewed in the city of Tecate, Mexico for more than 60 years. (The website also says that the beer is imported into the United States by Cervezas Mexicanas, White Plains, NY).
What is the oldest beer in Mexico?
Bohemia. Bohemia is the oldest traditional pilsner brewed in Mexico. Named after the Bohemia region of the Czech Republic, it was first brewed in the early 20th century by the Cerveceria Cuauhtémoc, who began its operation in 1891.
