Piriton has chlorpheniramine as it's main active ingredient which is generally safe for dogs, however the active ingredient in Piriteze is cetirizine hydrochloride which is generally not as safe for pets so it's better to air on the side of caution and give them Piriton which is generally recommended by vets.

Piriton can cause some side effects in dogs, including vomiting and dry mouth. If you are giving your pet too much the tablets could be cause for concern. Drowsiness can occur in dogs just like it can in humans, but should you seek advice from a vet. Diarrhoea can occur due to an upset stomach from the medicine.
