Premium shipping services (Priority Mail®, Priority Mail Express®, First-Class Package®) are forwarded for free. Media Mail® and USPS Retail Ground® are forwarded, but you must pay the cost for shipping from your local Post Office to your temporary address.
Is Priority mail forwarded to new address?
Priority Mail items are immediately rerouted or sent with your weekly box, whichever is faster. First-Class Mail® items, periodicals, and marketing notices are forwarded weekly. Large First-Class Mail, Media Mail, and USPS Retail Ground packages are automatically forwarded for free.
How long is priority mail forwarded to new address?
First Class, Priority and Express Mail get forwarded for 12 months at no charge. Periodicals (newspapers and magazines) get forwarded for 60 days at no charge. After 60 days the publisher is notified of the new address and the mail piece is wasted.
