Is Mind and Body Separate?

Typically humans are characterized as having both a mind (nonphysical) and body/brain (physical). This is known as dualism. Dualism is the view that the mind and body both exist as separate entities. Descartes / Cartesian dualism argues that there is a two-way interaction between mental and physical substances.

Are the mind and body separate or connected?

The mind and the body are not two separate entities—although they are often treated that way. Physical health and emotional health are intimately intertwined in what's known as the mind-body connection. Our chemistry and biology impact our mood and emotions, as well as thoughts and beliefs.

Why the mind and body are not separate?

What does it mean, the mind and body are not separate? Basically, what that means is the mind influences the body, and the body influences the mind. Thoughts can influence what happens in your body and what happens in your body can influence your thoughts.
