Because of it's middling range, the cello lives in the richest and most warm areas in music. The cello is also one of the most versatile of the string instruments, able to play really squeaky high, and yet just a moment later, sink down into a depths and cause the room to vibrate with its lowest notes.
What is so special about cello?
One obvious thing that makes cello unique is its size as it is way bigger compared to other instruments in the string family such as violin and viola. In playing cello, you have to use your full body to support and play it, making it look like a hard instrument to learn and play.
Why cellos are better than violins?
The violin can perform melodic and virtuous high pitches while the cello can fill in the melody with lower tones and make the base for the violin. That is why the violin quartet sounds so beautiful. The viola and cello give deeper lower tones while two violins play with the higher ones.
