In April 2021, Amazon announced it was launching a new mobile reading format called Kindle Vella. This new format will be available on Amazon.com and in the Kindle iOS App. The format allows U.S. based authors to release serialized stories by publishing “episodes” one at a time.

Is Kindle Vella available yet?

While the name might suggest otherwise, Kindle Vella isn't available on Amazon's Kindle e-readers. Rather, you'll only find it on Amazon.com or the Kindle iOS app (no Android for now). To start with, the service will be limited to US-based authors who publish stories in English.

How much are people making on Kindle Vella?

Authors receive 50% of royalties. Therefore, if a reader spends $1.99 to purchase 200 Tokens, then spends 50 of them on your 5000-word story, you receive $0.25. This comes out to $. 0005 per 100 words.
