MicroStation does not creates backup files automatically, so when you did not create the backup in some other way (using MicroStation key-in manually, configuring an application or macro, or using external backup software), the backup does not exist.
How do I recover files in MicroStation?
DWG Recover
- Open any other design file.
- Left-click the Utilities drop-down menu.
- Select DWG.
- Select Recover.
- Browse to and highlight the DWG file.
- Click OK.
- A message box opens and specifies how many errors were found and how many were fixed.
- Try to open the file in a normally with MicroStation.
Does MicroStation save automatically?
By default, MicroStation saves your changes after about two seconds of inactivity (mouse not moving or clicking, not entering keystrokes), and this closely emulates the old "immediate save" mode. When editing v7 and DWG files, however, incremental saves are not possible.
