The Oven Won't Heat
If both your gas oven and your gas burners have stopped working, the problem is most likely with the gas line, and will require professional repair. However, you may be able to replace the heating element or igniter yourself. Use a screwdriver to remove the old igniter or heating element.
Why is my gas stove working but not my oven?
In most common cases, this specific issue means that the broil element and the baking element remain functional. However, there's probably a blown internal fuse. If it's not the fuse, it could be the temperature sensor, broken or frayed wiring, or even a breakdown of the oven control board.
How do you reset a gas oven?
Reset the electronic control:
- Turn the circuit breaker to the OFF position. Wait one minute, then turn the breaker back to the ON position to reset electronic oven controls on models so equipped.
- We suggest doing this even if the light or the clock on the range or wall oven is working.
