Yes… DampRid is designed to remove moisture from the air. By doing so, it helps reduce excessive humidity. It's made up of an inorganic mineral salt called calcium chloride that absorbs moisture from the air.
Are moisture absorbers effective?
Moisture absorbers are very helpful in homes, especially because they inhibit the growth of mold and mildew. Mold usually grows in damp areas, such as the basement, the kitchen, and the bathroom.
Does DampRid actually do anything?
While DampRid will reduce moisture in your home and thereby help to prevent mold, we think a good dehumidifier does an even better job. DampRid only removes moisture from the air immediately around the container, so for a large room, you would likely need multiple containers.
