Should Foundation Match Undertone?

Should Foundation Match Undertone?

While two slightly different colored foundations may work for your skin, finding the foundation that matches your undertone will make your makeup look more natural.

Should foundation match your skin or be lighter?

Whether you have red hair and fair skin or black hair and dark ebony skin, the foundation must match your underlying skin color exactly. Do not buy a foundation that will make your face look even a shade or two darker or lighter or change its underlying color in any manner.

How do I know what undertones my foundation is?

One of the quickest and the most common ways to determine your undertone is to check the insides of your wrist. If your veins appear blue or purple, you have a cool undertone. If they look green, you're warm. If you're having a hard time narrowing down between blue or green, you most likely have a neutral undertone.
