1 - Snare traps are not humane, nor do they operate as such. This applies for both traps designed to kill, and traps designed to immobilize.

Are snare traps cruel?

Despite the fact that snares are inhumane killing devices because of their inherent design (they consist of a noose of some material [now steel cable] set to “snare” an animal or bird around the body to hold or kill it), they are widely considered as “lethal/killing devices.”

Do snares kill instantly?

Killing traps and snares do not always kill animals quickly. Animals that are being restrained in such trapping devices may take hours or even days to die depending on the trapping device, the capture location, the physical condition of the animals, and the environmental conditions.
