When Async Task Is Used?

AsyncTask enables proper and easy use of the UI thread. This class allows to perform background operations and publish results on the UI thread without having to manipulate threads and/or handlers.

What is use of async task?

Android AsyncTask is an abstract class provided by Android which gives us the liberty to perform heavy tasks in the background and keep the UI thread light thus making the application more responsive. Android application runs on a single thread when launched.

Why do we need async task?

Asynchronous coding often means that you need to multi-thread your code. This means that you have to start another thread that can run independently of your main task. This is often necessary because, as an example, waiting on communication to complete completely stops the thread that is waiting from running.
