To put it simply, stream sniping is when a viewer purposely gains access to a streamer's in-game lobby with the intention to derail or assist, or even aggravate the streamer.

How can you tell a stream is sniping?

Unfortunately, there's no real way to prove that someone is stream sniping and cheating on their account because League can't track when someone has their Twitch open or watching someone else's. It's just not plausible. However, platforms such as Twitch have implemented policies against the practice.

Can you go to jail for stream sniping?

In some games, stream sniping is against the terms of service, which means you could face penalties such as suspensions or bans for partaking in the activity, so think twice before trying to take down your favorite streamer.
