The Lymphatic Fluid
Although plasma albumin and serum globulins constitute the majority of the lymph proteins, tissue-specific proteins are also highly represented in the lymph proteome when compared to the plasma proteome.
What is contained in lymph?
Lymph is a clear-to-white fluid made of: White blood cells, especially lymphocytes, the cells that attack bacteria in the blood. Fluid from the intestines called chyle, which contains proteins and fats.
What proteins are in lymph?
Enrichment of ECM proteins in lymph has been extensively reported (11, 12, 14). ECM proteins identified in lymph include collagens, laminins, additional glycoproteins and proteoglycans.
