Matterhorn Bobsleds are a pair of intertwined steel roller coasters at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. It is modeled after the Matterhorn, a mountain in the Alps on the border between Switzerland and Italy. It is the first known tubular steel continuous-track roller coaster.
How long has the Matterhorn been closed?
Big Thunder Mountain was closed for 14 months between 2013 and 2014 when the park replaced the entire ride track to create a smoother ride. “Hopefully, that results in a less turbulent ride experience,” Erickson added. Matterhorn is widely known as one of the bumpiest, most jostling rides in the park.
