In cricket, a yorker is a ball bowled (a delivery) which hits the cricket pitch around the batsman's feet. ... Yorkers are considered to be one of the most difficult deliveries to bowl for the bowlers.

Is it difficult to bowl a yorker?

As mentioned above, it is equally tough for a bowler to pitch a right yorker than for a batsman to play it. In the simplest of terms, you, as a bowler, has to deliver the ball late to ensure it goes far enough to reach a batsman's feet.

Why is it difficult to bowl yorkers?

To add to this, a yorker isn't effective unless the ball pitches on a perfect length. It's really difficult to repeatedly bowl a perfect yorker, even a slight error in length will result in a full toss or pitched-up delivery that the batsman can easily dispatch for four.
