How long does it take? The videostroboscopy takes just 10 to 15 minutes, but there will be discussion with the speech pathologist before and interpretation after the procedure. Plan on approximately one hour for the entire evaluation to be completed.
Is a Videostroboscopy painful?
The videostroboscopy is done using a topical anesthetic to numb the nasal passages. Your child will be awake during the procedure. The procedure does not hurt. A pediatric otolaryngologist, also known as an ENT (a doctor who specializes in problems of the ears, nose and throat), will do your child's videostroboscopy.
Can you eat before a Videostroboscopy?
There is no preparation needed for videostroboscopy. You may eat and drink prior to the exam.
