How do I turn on auto caption on YouTube?
Turn default setting to on or off
- Click your profile picture .
- Click Settings .
- From the left-hand menu, click Playback and performance.
- Check or uncheck Always show captions.
- Check or uncheck Include auto-generated captions (when available).
How long does it take YouTube to auto caption a video?
This may take 5 or 10 minutes to process as it aligns the written text with the audio track. You can close the dialog box while it processes. In your subtitle list you will see the words 'Generating timings'.
