Born again, or to experience the new birth, is a phrase, particularly in evangelicalism, that refers to "spiritual rebirth", or a regeneration of the human spirit. In contrast to one's physical birth, being "born again" is caused distinctly and separately by baptism in Holy Spirit, not by baptism in water.

How do you become born again?

Being born again means giving up your old life to live a new life through Christ Jesus. Becoming a born again Christian might sound difficult, but God has made it easy for his faithful to come to him. By accepting Christ, you can come before God and be born again.

What does Jesus mean when he says you must be born again?

He was the one that said, “You must be born again.” According to Jesus, everyone needs to have two birthdays, and the second birthday is just as vitally important as the first. The first birthday determines when you are born on this earth. The second birth (or birthday) determines where you will spend eternity.
