How to remove temporary files using Disk Cleanup
- Open File Explorer.
- Click on This PC.
- Right-click the drive with the Windows 10 installation and select Properties.
- Click the Disk Cleanup button.
- Click the Cleanup system files button.
- Check the items you want to delete.
- Click OK.
- Click Delete Files to complete the task.
Can you delete everything in your temp folder?
In general, it’s safe to delete anything in the Temp folder. Sometimes, you may get a “can’t delete because the file is in use” message, but you can just skip those files. For safety, do your Temp directory deleting just after you reboot the computer.
Why can’t I delete temporary files in Windows 10?

- Type temp > click OK.
- Press Ctrl + A > click Delete.

- Type %temp% > click OK.
