How do I turn off Windows Firewall in Windows 10?

Disable the Firewall in Windows 10, 8, and 7

  • Open Control Panel.
  • Select the System and Security link.
  • Choose Windows Firewall.
  • Select Turn Windows Firewall on or off on the left side of the “Windows Firewall” screen.
  • Select the bubble next to Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended).

Should I disable Windows Firewall?

Select Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Firewall & network protection. Under Windows Defender Firewall, switch the setting to Off. If there’s an app you need to use that’s being blocked, you can allow it through the firewall, instead of turning the firewall off.
