Installing Linux
- Step 1) Download the .iso or the OS files on your computer from this link.
- Step 2) Download free software like ‘Universal USB installer to make a bootable USB stick.
- Step 3) Select an Ubuntu Distribution form the dropdown to put on your USB.
- Step 4) Click YES to Install Ubuntu in USB.
To create a USB installation device, you will need:
- a 2 GB USB flash device/drive/stick. If the iso file is smaller than 1 GB, it is possible to use a 1 GB USB device, at least with some of the methods.
- an Ubuntu flavour ISO file (see GettingUbuntu to download it)
Shut down the Mac you want to install Linux on and attach the USB stick. Power up the Mac while holding down the Option key. Choose the EFI Boot option from the startup screen and press Return. You will see a black and white screen with options to Try Ubuntu and Install Ubuntu.INSTALL FOLLOW-ME PRINTER
- Step 1: Open printer settings. Go to the Dash.
- Step 2: Add new printer. Click Add.
- Step 3: Authentication. Under Devices > Network Printer select Windows Printer via Samba.
- Step 4: Choose driver.
- Step 5: Select .PPD file.
- Step 6: Choose driver.
- Step 7: installable options.
- Step 8: Describe printer.
How do I install a downloaded file in Ubuntu?
Use Rufus to put Ubuntu on your USB flash drive or burn the downloaded ISO image to a disc. (On Windows 7, you can right-click an ISO file and select Burn disc image to burn the ISO file without installing any other software.) Restart your computer from the removable media you provided and select the Try Ubuntu option.
