Your VNC password is encrypted within the passwd file in your . vnc directory. You can try to decrypt it (not recommended), or you can replace it (recommended). Your VNC password and Unix logon password are two separate entities, so it’s wise to choose a VNC password that is different than your Unix password.
How do I find my VNC password?
If you forget your VNC Server password, you can reset it by visiting the remote computer and:
- Right-clicking the VNC Server tray or notification icon to open the menu, and selecting Open:
