How do I boot into safe mode?

Start Windows 7/Vista/XP in Safe Mode with Networking

  • Immediately after the computer is powered on or restarted (usually after you hear your computer beep), tap the F8 key in 1 second intervals.
  • After your computer displays hardware information and runs a memory test, the Advanced Boot Options menu will appear.

Why did my phone go into safe mode?

Typically restarting an Android cell phone should get it out of the Safe Mode feature (a battery pull too as it is essentially a soft reset). If your phone is STUCK in Safe Mode though and restarting it or pulling the battery doesn’t seem to help at all then it could be a hardware issue like a problematic volume key.
