To start the Windows Installer Service, follow these steps:

• Click Start, and then type CMD in the Search programs and files dialog box.
• Right-click cmd.exe, and then click Run as Administrator.
• Type net start MSIServer, and then press ENTER.
• Restart the installation process for the program that you want to install.

How do I find my Windows installer?

To determine which version of Windows Installer is installed on a computer, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type %systemroot%\system32, and then click. OK.
2. Right-click Msi.dll, and then click. Properties.
3. Click the Version tab, and then note the File version number.
