Two hours is a reasonable time for an Arch Linux installation. It is not hard to install, but Arch is a distro that eschews easy-do-everything-install in favor of a only-install-what-you-need streamlined installation. I found Arch install to be very easy, actually.

If you want to be a skilled Linux operator, start out with something difficult. Arch isn’t as hard as Gentoo or Linux from Scratch, but you’ll get the reward of having a running system much faster than either of these two. Invest the time to learn Linux well.

Is Arch harder than Ubuntu?

Yes installing Arch is harder… much harder, but after that everything is just easier to use. Especially installing programs.
