How do I find my Linux desktop environment?

For other Linux distributions, please use your system’s package manager to install this program. Once installed, simply type screenfetch in the terminal and it should show the desktop environment version along with other system information. As you can see in the above image, my system is using GNOME 3.36.

How do I know if I have KDE or Gnome?

If you go to the About page of your computers settings panel, that should give you some clues. Alternatively, look around on Google Images for screenshots of Gnome or KDE. It should be obvious once you have seen the basic look of the desktop environment.
