What Do Pardalotes Eat?

They eat insects and spiders. Except when they are breeding, pardalotes are usually found high up in eucalyptus trees hunting for food. They nest in tree hollows or in holes they make in earthen banks.

What do Pardalotes feed on?

Striated Pardalotes feed in the foliage in the tops of trees, although occasionally coming close to the ground in low shrubs. They eat a wide variety of insects and their larvae, which are usually captured by picking them from the surfaces of leaves.

Where do Pardalotes nest?

The Spotted Pardalote's nest is an enlarged, lined chamber at the end of narrow tunnel, excavated in an earth bank. Sometimes they nest in tree hollows and occasionally in artificial structures. Both parents share nest-building, incubation of the eggs and feeding of the young when they hatch.
