Hvar is the most famous of all Croatian islands. It is best known for its turquoise waters, lavender fields, 2.800 hours of sunshine a year, good nightlife, and as a summer refuge for the rich and famous. We also like it for its history and culture, lovely countryside, hidden bays, tasty food, and great local wines.
Why you should visit Hvar?
Hvar is said to be one of the most stunning islands in Croatia. Picturesque towns and villages, hillsides covered in pine forests, vineyards, olive groves, and lavender fields, pristine beaches—the scenery alone is reason enough to make a beeline for it!
Is Hvar worth visiting?
Would we recommend Hvar? Yes, its definitely worth the trip out from Split, however, we would only spend a few hours there and head back. It was perfect to explore a little and see the main sites.
