Habitat. Northern Fulmars live most of their lives in the open ocean. They nest in colonies on cliffs scattered around the North Atlantic, North Pacific, and Arctic Oceans.

Do fulmars mate for life?

Fulmars reach sexual maturity anywhere between 6 and 12 years of age. They are monogamous and the pairs will generally return to the same nesting location every year.

Why should you not scare a Northern Fulmar?

When the fulmar senses danger or sees a predator, it does not run or hide. It vomits, and not just “I'm scared” throw up or your average run of the mill stomach flu puke. No, the fulmar projectile vomits an acidic solution at its predators up to 5 feet away.
