When should you use a suppository?
You might need a suppository if:
- The drug you're taking would break down too quickly in your digestive tract if you took it as a pill or liquid.
- You can't swallow medicine.
- You're vomiting and can't keep a pill or liquid down.
- The medicine tastes too bad to take by mouth.
When should you not use a suppository?
Stop using Fleet Glycerin Suppositories Adult rectal and call your doctor at once if you have:
- severe stomach pain or cramping;
- rectal bleeding; or.
- no bowel movement within 1 hour after use.
