Do Triops Eat Algae?

Do Triops Eat Algae?

Triops are omnivores; they eat anything including each other if there is no other food available. In their natural habitat, they feed on plant matter, algae, daphnia and mosquito larvae.

Is algae good for triops?

Yes, they can eat almost anything, as they are known to be omnivorous. They can eat earthworms, par-boiled veggies, water-fleas, brine shrimp (Artemia/sea-monkeys), algae, blood-worms, houseflies, and even other triops if all other food is scarce.

Can you feed triops to fish?

I've kept them with fish, even young guppies, with no problems before. It has a lot to do with how well fed they are. They're an inherently lazy animal, basically. If they have an easy food source they'll happily stick to it alone.
