The Greek Church Fathers also called it the "All-Virtuous Wisdom", while the Latin Church Fathers, beginning with Cyprian, termed it Ecclesiasticus because it was frequently read in churches, leading the early Latin Fathers to call it liber ecclesiasticus (Latin and Latinised Greek for "church book").

Two Books of the Bible, Ecclesiastes, which is within canonized Scripture, was written by King Solomon, and this is the New American Standard version; and Ecclesiasticus, from the Apocrypha or "hidden books", was written by a man named Jesus Sirach, and this is the King James version.
