When uploading music, DistroKid gives the option of paid add-ons. These include monetising your music on YouTube, Cover Song Licensing, Instagram and Facebook (for use in Stories), and so on.
Does DistroKid collect YouTube royalties?
We keep 20% of the revenue from YouTube videos that we find, and send you the rest (80%). But you still keep the money you earn from streaming services and music stores like iTunes, Spotify etc. You always keep 100% of that, minus banking fees/applicable taxes.
Can you monetize music on YouTube?
The YouTube Partner Program doesn't restrict where you can upload and distribute content, so you can monetize your music on YouTube and other platforms.
