Has Grecian Formula Changed?

Has Grecian Formula Changed?

Grecian Formula is a men's hair coloring product from Combe Incorporated. Until recently, the formulation used in the United States contained lead(II) acetate. ... Lead acetate has been replaced by bismuth citrate as the progressive colorant.

Does the new Grecian Formula work?

The new formula DOES NOT WORK. It smells like rubbing alcohol and leaves a dark residue on hands and clothes. Will not be buying Grecian anymore and will look for an alternative product. VERY disappointed in the new formula, please bring back the old formula that worked!

Is Grecian Formula being discontinued?

CR confirmed that Grecian Formula containing lead acetate still remains on some store shelves and online, however, as does Youthair. We found Grecian Formula listing lead acetate as an ingredient for sale in a Walgreens and a Rite Aid in New York City, as well as online from Walmart and Amazon.
