What is embargo country?
An embargo (from the Spanish embargo, meaning hindrance, obstruction, etc. in a general sense, a trading ban in trade terminology and literally "distraint" in juridic parlance) is the partial or complete prohibition of commerce and trade with a particular country/state or a group of countries.
Is China embargoed by the US?
An embargo was reimposed by the US following the Tiananmen Square Massacre in 1989. In 2020, the US imposed sanctions and visa restrictions against several Chinese government officials, in response to allegations of a genocide against the Uyghur population in Xinjiang and human rights abuses in Hong Kong and Tibet.
