When Does Ceratostigma Flower?

When Does Ceratostigma Flower?

Typically grows 6-10" tall on generally erect stems rising from the rhizomes. Oval to obovate, shiny, medium green leaves (to 2" long) turn bronze-red in autumn. Terminal clusters of 5-petaled, gentian blue flowers (1/2 to 3/4" diameter) appear above the foliage over a long summer to frost bloom period.

Why is my plumbago not blooming?

Where freezing isn't too harsh (light frost), plumbago will lose its leaves. They grow back in spring, with the blooming. In temperate climates, winter is a dormant period. It won't bloom when temperatures start cooling down.

When should I prune Ceratostigma?

Garden care: In early or mid-spring cut back the flowered shoots to within 2.5cm (1in) of the old growth. After pruning apply a generous 5-7cm mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant.
