A galactocele is a benign, milk-filled cyst that develops on the breast. This type of cyst may feel smooth or round. It won't be hard and tender to the touch. It likely won't be painful, but it may be uncomfortable.
Can galactocele be painless?
A galactocele usually presents as a painless lump in the breast. These lumps form over a few weeks to months. The lesions can be uni- or bilateral, and may appear as single or multiple nodules.
How do you fix galactocele?
Treatment is by aspiration of the contents or by excision of the cyst. Antibiotics are given to prevent infection. Galactoceles may be associated with oral contraceptive use.
