Thanks to the semester system, most schools do Fall recruitment, Spring recruitment, or both. If the school does both, one is considered "formal" recruitment and the other is informal. Formal recruitment is the time when most girls rush.
How often do sororities recruit?
To receive a bid from a National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sorority you participate in recruitment. Primary recruitment happens once per school year and might be the busiest season for sorority women and potential new members (PNMs). Recruitment could last as little as 3 days and as long as a week.
Do sororities recruit in the spring?
It can take place in Fall or Spring. You need to look at your college's Panhellenic website. However, if your college's formal recruitment is in the Spring, you have to be a sophomore (or junior or senior) to participate in informal recruitment during the Fall.
