Aggregate concrete blocks have been used below damp proof course for many years where they have proved to be durable, efficient and highly economical. Aggregate concrete blocks permit fast on-site working since the standard dimension of a block is equivalent to six bricks.
What blocks can be used below DPC?
Concrete Block Foundations and Building Below Damp-Proof Course (DPC)
- Airtec Standard or Airtec Seven Wall Blocks or Foundation blocks.
- Ultralite Concrete blocks of 7.3N/mm² compressive strength or above.
- Insulite Concrete block of 7.3 N/mm² compressive strength or above.
- Dense Concrete blocks of any strength.
Can I use Thermalite blocks below DPC?
Yes, all Thermalite blocks are suitable for use below ground. The mirco-cellular structure of Thermalite, which incorporates millions of tiny pockets of trapped air, gives the material protection against the effects of frost.
