It is a very nice show with great characters and great acting. Ted Danson is John Becker, an angry bachelor-doctor who is trying to find a little less trouble in his world. Add a bunch of cool characters to go with it and you've got a great show.
Why did Becker get Cancelled?
Despite the ratings wins they were getting with the series, CBS decided to try to find a new home for Becker and relocated the sitcom to lead off its Sunday night lineup. The ratings unexpectedly fell as Becker dropped out of the top 50 in the ratings, and CBS was set to cancel the series.
Was Becker a popular show?
Yet, despite all the pedigree, the show wasn't exactly a huge hit. ... Well, it did run for 129 episodes and is in syndication so it did a whole lot better than any of my shows. But BECKER should have been a bigger hit. The problem was that CBS, for whatever reason, never believed in the show.
