Partial thickness burns
They typically heal within three weeks with minimal scarring. Deep partial-thickness burns are dry and may appear ivory or pearly white. They take longer to heal and usually produce some scarring.
How do you know if a burn will scar?
While there is not a definite answer, typically, the greater the severity of the burn, the greater the chances that a scar will be present. For example, less severe burns known as first-degree burns, take less than ten days to heal. Most of the time, first degree burns have no scarring.
How long do partial thickness burns take to heal?
Superficial burns—3 to 6 days. Superficial partial-thickness burns—usually less than 3 weeks. Deep partial-thickness burns—usually more than 3 weeks. Full-thickness burns—heal only at the edges by scarring without skin grafts.
