DCC loco's can run on a DC system. At the factory the default value for a decoder is to have the loco run on both DCC and DC. The user can change this value so the loco can only run on DCC if he wishes to do so.

Can DCC Ready trains run on analogue?

Q: Will my DCC fitted locomotives still run on my analogue layout? A: Yes! DCC fitted models will run on analogue, however may be a little slower to respond. The opposite is not true, however, and we do not recommend running analogue locomotives on a digital layout as this can cause internal damage to your locomotive.

Is DCC compatible with DC?

Normally, DCC decoders will function correctly when running on DC power, so you can run a DCC locomotive on DC.
