What Does Unfalsifiable Statements Mean?

An unfalsifiable statement is one in which there are no cases under which it could be false. It is like a tautology. Statements about God, etc. are held as being unfalsifiable because they are metaphysical, and so are tautologous (cf. logical positivism's rejection of metaphysics).

What is an unfalsifiable statement?

(also known as: untestability) Description: Confidently asserting that a theory or hypothesis is true or false even though the theory or hypothesis cannot possibly be contradicted by an observation or the outcome of any physical experiment, usually without strong evidence or good reasons.

What is an example of unfalsifiable?

Unfalsifiable. An unfalsifiable statement can't be disproved with an observation. For example, if you say "Aliens exist" there is no single observation that can disprove this. In theory, you could inspect every inch of the universe to confirm the absence of life outside our planet but this isn't feasible.
