Texas Rock Rose
It benefits from hard cutting back in early spring because new growth is often leggy. To encourage bushiness and more flowers, prune the stems back occasionally throughout the growing season. The plants live for three to six years, but they self-seed in if not deadheaded.
When should a Rock Rose be pruned?
Cistus are best pruned lightly after flowering to keep into shape. In the right place Cistus are entirely trouble free and will bloom freely.
How do you prune a Rock Rose?

- Grasp one of the vertical stems on the rock rose and trace it back to the base of the plant.
- Cut the stem off approximately 1/2 inch above the woody section of the stem using pruning shears.
