The store’s name was inspired by a Blum son’s schoolwork about Plato who had been an early advocate of recycling, which paralleled the aim to recycle used clothes.

Does Platos Closet clean the clothes?

We do not wash clothing as we purchase it but we do accept items in ready to wear condition. We are particularly picky on the cleanliness of the items accepted but we like to remind shoppers to give their items a wash once they get them home.
