Pool cover anchors are used to fasten the straps of winter pool covers to the ground or deck. The anchors are typically brass.

Each Spring and fall some members do the following:
Unscrew the inside anchor from its base.Rinse off all the dirt from the threads and let dry.Then use silicone lube on the threads.

Can you walk on a pool safety cover?

The cover is designed to touch the surface of the water. So your pool should always be filled when covered, and the water level should never go below 18 inches from the top of the pool. Check the water level of the pool and fill it up if it goes below 18 inches.

How do you install pool anchors in the grass?

Be sure to hold the drill perpendicular to the deck, to create a vertical hole. After drilling the hole, remove the dust with a blower, wet-dry vac or with a garden hose. Then tamp the anchor into the hole, using a tamping tool so you don’t damage the hex key hole, or bend the top rim of the anchor.

How far apart are pool cover anchors?

Set anchors back to proper distance from the pool edge. Anchors should be located 20” from the cover’s edge. The correct anchor distance back from the pool edge is the cover overlap plus the 20” distance from the cover’s edge to the anchor. Typically the anchors are about 32” to 38” back from the pool edge.

How do you remove concrete anchors?

Usually, a screwdriver, pipe wrench, or vise grips can unthread the protruding bolt, leaving the female anchor flush with the concrete. If needed, a hammer can be used to knock the anchoring tube below the floor, and in some cases these tubes can simply be pulled out of the hole entirely.
