Rit Color Remover is a great product designed to remove colors from fabrics without having to use harsh chlorine bleach. Regular bleach damages the fibers in fabrics so if you go to re-dye them a different color afterwards, your results may not be consistent or may not turn out how you are expecting them to.
How do you get fabric dye out of fabric?
Take a white cloth and dampen it with a commercial stain remover, rubbing alcohol, hairspray, or any clear solvent that is 90% alcohol. Dab the stain with the white cloth repeatedly, and the dye should keep transferring from your garment onto the white cloth. Afterward, rinse in warm water. Proceed with normal wash.
How do you neutralize Rit dye?
Add Citric Acid Crystals to Fiber-Reactive (Basic) Dyes
You must add 1 tablespoon of citric acid crystals at a time to the fiber-reactive (basic) dye’s container to decrease the pH value.
Will bleach remove Rit dye?

Does Rit dye fade?

Can you Rit dye something twice?
If it gets twisted, stop the machine and untwist it. If you are working with cotton, linen, silk, wool or ramie and don’t like the color, you can remove it using Rit Color Remover. It will bring the fabric to a white or cream color. Then you can re-dye the garment to another color!
Can I dump Rit dye down the sink?
Yes! Rit products may be safely flushed through both sewer and septic systems.
